I love splinter, specially the classic look. I guess this one would go with my old turtles "re" invention

The hard covers or larger format books will run atleast $5-$6 a book for even something as low as 50 pages. You can get the printing done out of country for around $3.50 a book but you have to make sure it's a credible source. I know a few, but I've stayed domestic to keep from dealing with language barriers or time delays.
I'd hold off on the hardcover format until you either have an established audience or a property (creator owned or otherwise) that you can bank on the interest in your work. Then you know that will translate to enough sales to cover your printing costs atleast and the rest is profit on your work.
It's also a very nice tax deduction to get the books made. Let me know if you have any other questions.
